| - Oh no, Ashen's OCD is kicking in XD jk -
"Alrighty then, after you oh mighty leader." Klutches said referring to Kodiak but in a respectful manner. "Oh yeah, good morning Kane." he said grinning politley and laughed as Kane chased the bouncing hare and added "Great to see you participating with us Ashen." Klutches could feel the adrenaline kicking in, a sort of excitement the way he always did before hunts. As a Lead Hunter, he was proud to say he had the amazing skills of a fine hunter, although the pack's team work is what truley got the job done, still he was good and never hesitated to show it either. Klutches felt his claws extend out of his paws and the playful mood that rested deep in his eyes began to shift into the wild eyes of Nature's deadly beauty.

| Rune wagged his tail at Ashen's coming. He let out a small park, showing his excitement for the hunt. He drew to Kodiaks right flank, ready to go. "After you Kodiak" he said to his leader. | |

| ooc; Hope you guys don't mind me coming in SUPER late. >>; The bloody sun rose just over the horizon, dying everything a pinkish hue. As the light slowly settled along the length of the plateau, a broad, muscled wolf rolled over onto his back, still deep within the clutches of sleep. However, soon enough, a leaf fluttered onto his stomach, and he twitched, and managing to slam his face into the ground. With a yip, the canine lept up, shaking his head to and fro to try and dull the ache in his muzzle. This was a normal activity for Ace, who was a rather deep sleeper and was only awoken by pain or shock. His sharp, golden eyes slowly opened again, and he stared directly at the small group of wolves nearby. His ears tilted backwards in embarassment, and hoping for dear life that nobody saw his little...mistake, he pranced over, surprisingly light on his thick, rounded paws. A light breeze rustled the unkept fur that encircled his neck, making it puff up against his broad, kind face. Slowly, it died down, and the fur settled again, along with his ears tilting back up to listen to the conversation.
"A hunt? That sounds like fun," he mused, sitting back on his haunches to think about it. Hunting was fun, but when Ace did it, he got oddly serious and alert. Overall, however, his need for fun outweighed his emotional worry, so with a large, wolfish {{Ha ha}} grin, he stood back up, his tail swishing back and forth slowly. "Mind if I come?" he asked, his amber eyes lightening with amusement. Oddly enough, whenever he was around his packmates, some strange humor lightened his emotions, for absolutely no reason at all. Unfortunately, it wasn't as strong as it normally was, of course because he was still thinking about his little...accident.

| Rune managed to catch out of the corner of his eye, Ace, and his accident. Ouch was all Rune though. "Glad you could make it sleepy head" Rune said jokeing, happy to see another pack member joining them. Rune looked at his pack mates then looked back toward Ace. Reffering to Ace's wake up call, he asked, seriously "Are you ok?".

| Klutches could be a bit of the 'serious' type most of the time, therefore, when he'd witnessed Ace's 'accident' he didn't even crack a smile nor did he even acknowledge the fact that he'd seen it, he did, however, greet his newly awakened Hand in a respectful manner. "Mornin' Ace." He said in a low, deep voice. The anticipation ached through Klutches's body as he was ready to unleash the wild wolf within, He turned to his leader, his body almost trembeling with the adrenaline that flowed through him, and said "Ready when you are Kodiak." | |

| Kodiak couldn't help but grin at the pack's excitment. It made him feel good when his packmates were happy. He laughed a bit when he noticed Klutches about ready to burst with adrenilne. "Alright, alright, let's go!" Kodiak said, howling the go at the end while brekaing into a sprint toward Oxbow.
Kodiak embraced the wind rushing into his face, closing his eyes for a few moments to indulge in the feeling, then opening them up again to view what was in front of him. He could see ravens flying above them, obviously hoping to munch on the leftover scraps of the elk they would kill. His strong, powerful legs moved in a constant and loud rythm, pounding into the earth at full force. Adreniline and instinct slowly started taking over Kodiak, allowing him to dodge trees and obstacles without even thinking about it or realizing he was doing so. He could hear elk hooves nearby, and knew they were getting close.

| Rune started out as a sprint, saveing his energy for the hunt. His feet pounded the hard earth as he flew across it. As the smell of the elk inched closer, his instincts took over as he started running faster, easily catching up with his leader. He took Kodiak's left flank as he kept in rhythm with the alpha. | |

| Ace rolled his eyes, then jogged after the rest of his pack, taking up the rear of it. If anything, this was usually what happened, because everyone else was so excited that they jostled each other and plenty of mishaps had taken place before. However, his light, easy jogging picked up into a half-run, half-sprint as the wind tangled itself in his fur and hit his face like a slap. The exhiliration always made him move faster, and he enjoyed the feeling of blood coursing through his veins. His other pack mates looked just as excited, and he could feel the heavy anticipation of making a kill hanging heavily over the group. His previously kind face was now dead serious, as it usually was when a hunt came into play.
As if his paws weren't touching the ground, Ace glided to a stop, his body coming to rest a few feet behind his pack mates. The scent of elk hit his nostils, and he let out a short breath, his ears perking upwards as he listened. He could hear them, and smell them, but they weren't close enough for him to pick out among the dimly lit woods.

| As soon as Kodiak said the magic words, Klutches was off like a bullet in thin air. His adrenaline was releasing as he felt the wind rustle through his fur and the sense of freedom come about. He knew, however, he musn't use too much of his energy for the trip and instead, save it for the hunt, and also he musn't pass the leader, so instead he took the opposite flank Rune had and slowly fell in pace on Kodiak's right. His serious expressions remained on his face, and the sweet scent of a nearby elk herd hit his nostrils. He'd realized the rest of the pack had smelt it too as they picked up their speeds. Klutches too, pushed his legs faster and faster, jolting through the forest like he'd done many times before, allowing all instincts of the deadly hunter within overtake his body. | |

| The scent of elk hit Runes nostrils as he ran. He became even more excited. It became difficult, for he had to keep pace with his leader and pack mates. As the trees passed by him in a blur, Rune's happy, joyful self, was replaced by a skilled and powerful hunter as the pack grew ever so closer to the herd. | |

| The scent of elk blasted into Kodiak's nose within seconds, forcing Kodiak to hold back a snarl at the mouth watering scent. After a few more moments of running, he could see them a little ways away. His eyes instinctively scanned the three elk herds that were gathered around the waters of Oxbow. As Kodiak's eyes fixed on a weak cow in one of the herds, another scent filled his nostrils and made him bare his teeth. He could smell the scent of the Crying Symphony Pack. It was not stale, but not brand new either. They had been at Oxbow about an hour or so ago though, Kodiak knew that. Out of all the pack that Kodiak had to put up with, it was the Crying Symphony pack that came in a close second to the Serpent's Eye Pack. Crying Symphony was brutal and vicious, and they took whatever excuse they could get to pick a fight with Sera Serenade. But the Serpent's Eye Pack beat them out because of their false thinking that they owned the left waters of Slough Creek and the small lake by Canyon Cliffs. This was untrue, but Sera Serenade and Serpent's Eye were constantly at each other's throats because of this issue. The Shrill Echoed Pack however was never much of a problem, since they were the most peaceful out of the others. They rarely caused any trouble, and were easy to get along with for the most part.
Kodiak brought his attention back to the elk, deciding that the Crying Symphony Pack would not be an issue at the moment since the scent was not too fresh. He wiped the snarl off his face, fixing his eyes on the cow he had seen earlier. He then sped for it, and this is when the elk herds finally noticed the pack making their way toward them. Kodiak watched as elk scattered around Oxbow, trying to get away from the incoming pack. Kodiak weaved through many elk until he finally leaped onto the cows back at full force, knocking the cow down onto the ground because fo Kodiak's size and strength. The cow elk fell with a harsh thud, letting out a moan and steruggling to get back up while Kodiak dug his fangs into it's shoulder. Kodiak then jumped back off, the cow elk standing up again with a slight limp. It tried to run away in many directions to only have its escape route blocked by Kodiak's massive body and bloodthirsty gaze. Kodiak snarled viciously at the cow elk, tensing up and getting ready to strike again.

| Ace glanced ahead, and noticed Kodiak stiffen up. He tilted his ears back and lifted his head, the scent of the Crying Symphony Pack hitting his nostils. Instantly, he flinched, a sharp frown creasing over his muzzle quickly. He wasn't too fond of that pack, and knew that they picked a fight whenever they wanted to just to get on Sera Serenade's nerves. A low, quiet growl drifted out from his bared teeth, and he couldn't help but think of the pack that was certainly the worst, the Serpent's Eye Pack. That pack pranced around the left side of the creek and acted like they owned the entire territory there. They also came to think that the small lake by the canyon was their's as well, and constantly made a point about it. Both packs were incredibly venomous towards each other, and plenty of fights had broken out between Sera Serenade and Serpent's Eye. But, more intent on hunting and eating, the large wolf shook out his fur, letting the frown be replaced by a sly, hungry smile. A split second after that, Kodiak bolted into the herd, disappearing for an instant before suddenly reappearing again while tackling a rather weak female elk.
Instantly, the large white wolf skirted around his packmates, then reached a sprint, charging through the bustling of elk bodies struggling to get away. Ace's eyes flashed a sharp gold as he leapt onto the cow, landing with a large sound on it's round stomach. Kodiak was already off and preparing for another strike, so quickly, he ripped into the elk's back, his teeth knocking against the thick backbone. However, he wanted his other packmates to get a few hits in, so he jumped away, standing on the side opposite Kodiak, watching the elk try and limp away. He bared his bloodstained teeth, a sharp snarl tearing out of his throat and making his eyes sharpen to a hard yellow.

| Rune let out a snarl, the other pack's scents filling his nostrils. He quickley let that thought out of his mind as Kodiak went for the elk. He waited till there was space to attack, seeing there were 5 wolves attacking the cow. He saw an opportunity to have his turn as Ace steeped back to let his pack mates have a shot.
Rune tensed up as he sprang for the cow. A snarl escaped his throut as he landed on the cow. He tore at the stomach, biteing where he could.

| Kodiak lunged at the cow elk again, crunching his powerful jaws around it's neck and body checking it to the ground once again. He saw Rune attacking the cow's stomach, and took a mental note to be careful if the elk started to stand up again to make sure it did not step on Rune. Kodiak dodged the cow's teeth as it attempted to nip his ear as it lay helpless on the ground. Kodiak went for the cow's throat again, using his hind legs to rake the area where it's heart was while lunging. He tore off a clump of skin from the neck, hearing a bone chilling bellow come from the cow. Blood covered Kodiaks muzzle as he spat the skin out and watched in horror as the cow started to get up, knowing that if it did it would kick Rune. But to Kodiak's relief, the cow elk fell mid-standing up, and it body lay lifeless on the blood stained grass. Kodiak snorted at the fallen elk once, then glanced over at Rune to make sure he was okay, panting tiredly as the adreniline rush slowly eased away. | |

| Rune was to preoccupied to reliaze that the cow started to get up. He reliazed the cows movements as he slid off the elk, and then as he watched it drop to the ground, lifeless. Rune started to pant. He looked around at his pack mates. He grined, seeing of their job well done.
Rune got up and shook his fur out. He padded in a small circle, seeing as his energy was still there. He looked up to the sky, seeing some birds already crowded around the tree, waiting for their free meal. He smelled a few coyotes too, letting out a warning bark in the direction of the scent.
He turned his attention back on the pack. He sat down and waited for the first bite to be taken by the Sera Serenade's leader, Kodiak.

| Kodiak smiled slightly when he found out Rune was okay and was not damaged at all. He padded over to the cow, taking a quick glance around seeing that the herd had all fled into the woods. He turned his attention back to the fallen cow elk, and leaned over to take a bite out of it. The fresh meat and warm blood tingled his tastebuds, making him start to eat faster. After eating for a few seconds, he pulled off a leg and dragged it a metre ot two away from the elk to allow the others to have their share. He lied down beside the leg, occasionaly taking a bite out of it. He could still smell the scent of the Crying Symphony Pack lingering through the air, but managed to ignore it enough so that his nose only twitched slightly at the smell. Kodiak felt like strolling around the waters by Canyon Cliffs, but he wasn't sure if he felt like possibly dealing with the Serpent's Eye Pack if he ran into them. The left side of Slough Creek around Canyon Cliffs was Kodiak's favorite place in all of the Slough Creek Region, He chose the Little Butte as his territory only because it was on higher ground, provided more protection, and was close to both water and hunting spots. Plus it was pretty central of the Slough Creek Region. Another factor that made Kodiak choose Little Butte over the left rivers of Slough Creek and Canyon Creek was because the Serpent's Eye Pack was established before Kodiak had migrated to the Slough Creek Region, and the two territories would have been much too close together. | |
